Learning Outcomes:
Why brand protection is paramount to business survival
That product quality is essential to business survival and a number of factors can influence this, including compromising quality by driving down cost.
Gain a better understanding so when considering renewal of your insurance portfolio, you don't immediately dismiss available product recall and contamination covers without carefully reflecting upon gaps in your existing insurance programme.
Andrew Robinson - Product Liability & Recall Specialist Practice Group Leader
Became a loss adjuster nearly 30 years ago and has worked in claims throughout that time. An early exposure to a regular supply of product liability claims paved his way to a career path specialising in this arena.
Having started his career in the UK, a move to the specialist adjusting unit of Ellis & Buckle coincided with a spate of higher profile and complex product liability claims. These included claims from the food and beverage industry had involved a multitude of microbiological contaminations, many surface coating failures and packaging taints.
Working for a variety of insurers and private corporations means that he has developed an investigative approach, which was defined by understanding the product, where it had been delivered, what its function was and identifying other critical questions he has continued his interest in product liability claims and during the last 10 years has developed what is now Cunningham Lindsey’s Product Recall Service; with claims as diverse as exploding scampi, contaminated tea, sub-sea pipeline failures and munitions defects.
