Advising vulnerable clients
Nigel Merchant – Training Manager, Kings Court Trust
Overview
At some point in their professional career, advisers are likely to be engaged with clients who could be deemed to be in a vulnerable state. This hour long seminar will introduce some of the key issues that professionals need to be aware of when dealing with individuals whose judgement may be affected by mental or emotional
influences. It will also suggest guidance to help advisers mitigate the risks involved whilst still delivering sound advice.
Learning objectives
At the end of this event, the delegate will be able to identify:
• what constitutes a vulnerable person
• the importance of testamentary capacity
• best practice and professional standards
• ways of mitigating the professional risks of advising vulnerable clients.
