Chargeable Events & Top-Slicing
Session Content
This will be a technical session, discussing the instances that give rise to Chargeable Events on investment bonds, including top-slicing and the recent HMRC guidance relating to this.
A light buffet lunch and refreshments will be available from 12.15 with the seminar starting at 1p.m. for an hour.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this session, Delgates will have an up to date knowledge on Chargeable Events and how they can arise.
Also, the session will ensure that Delegates are fully aware of how top-slicing is calculated following recent HMRC guidance which indicates floors in the calculation being used at present.
Speaker
Ash helps advisers in the Midlands with their offshore and trust planning cases, working alongside the advisers usual consultants. Ash has been in the industry for 21 years, with 17 of those being based in the Midlands. Prior to joining Old Mutual in April 2018, Ash spent 2 years at Brooks Macdonald, and 8 years at Canada Life International.

The Nottingham Insurance Institute charges for non-attendance at all CPD events. If you do find that you are unable to attend, we ask that you give us at least 4 working days’ notice that you are no longer able to attend.
Please note, if you fail to let us know before this deadline, we will need to charge a £30.00 (inc. VAT) non-attendance fee to cover the cost of catering, booking arrangements and denial of your place to other members.
All cancellations must be received by email and you will receive confirmation of your cancellation. You may also nominate a replacement if you are unable to attend. By proceeding with the registration, you agree to these terms and conditions.
