FCA BI TEST CASE - THE JUDGMENT IS IN, NOW THE WORK BEGINS - AN OVERVIEW OF THE IMPACT ON OUTSTANDING AND REPUDIATED CLAIM
WEBINAR CONTENT:
The FCA’s test case concluded on 30 July and the judges agreed to hand down their judgment mid September. Eight days were spent analysing countless policy wordings and individual words and their everyday meanings and the findings have now been released.
The full response from the FCA can be found at result-fca-business-interruption-test-case
Where do we go from here?
- What action do we as professionals now need to take?
- What impact will this judgement have on current claims, whether reported and declined or not yet reported?
Whatever action has to be taken to adhere to the ruling will have far-reaching consequences on insurers and brokers. Our first webinar will deal with the claims so far filed but not as yet accepted by the insurers.
We will run through the key points of the judgment, apply the judgment to two or three worked examples, highlight practical steps and open up for a Q&A.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
By the end of the session you will be able to assess the viability of claims that are relevant to losses from the pandemic and consider what actions are required to ensure customers receive a decision in line with that judgment.
