125th Annual Presidents Dinner 2024
On behalf of our President, Andrew Fennell, we would like to invite you to our Annual Dinner and celebration of the 125th year of the Nottingham Insurance Institute, which will be held on Friday 19th January 2024, from 6pm until late.
We are also delighted to announce a brand-new venue for this year which will be the prestigious Colwick Hall, Nottingham, which does have some hotel rooms for guests to book. For alternative accommodation, there are many other hotels within less than 3 miles of the venue via a 10-minute taxi journey.
Not only is the Dinner a great networking opportunity as the evening is attended by brokers, financial planners, insurers, employment agencies, solicitors and other associated companies from Nottingham, Derby and the wider area, it also promises to be great fun as well.
This prestigious black tie event commences at 6.00pm with a call through to the dining room at 7pm. During the evening we will be celebrating our Exam Achievers as well as announcing the top achievers and presenting them with a special award.
To celebrate our 125th Year, we have a superb line-up of entertainment and are excited to confirm that the hilarious, Scott Bennett, ‘Live at the Apollo’ star and top circuit Comedian will be performing, plus we also have an amazing live band, SuperFreak, who will ensure that we can all end the night on the dancefloor and celebrate in style!
We will be supporting our two Charities during the night, our Presidents' nominated charity, Forever Stars and the Insurance Charities, where we will be holding a charity raffle and games to raise much needed funds for these great causes.
Ticket price of £70.00 includes the above entertainment and a 3-course meal & complementary Prosecco on entry, with seating on circular tables accommodating 10 people.

About Scott:
After starting comedy in late 2009, Scott is a stand-up comedian and writer whose star is most definitely on the rise.
In 2021 he recorded his debut for Live at the Apollo BBC1. You will have heard him as a regular guest on BBC Radio 4’s The News Quiz, The Now Show, The Likely Dads and Elephant in the Room with Sarah Millican. He also appeared on The Summer Festival with Daliso Chaponda, The Comedy Club with Arthur Smith, and Knock Knock with Helen Lederer. In 2018, he also featured on the BBC One show, Live from The Edinburgh Fringe.
During the lockdown of 2020, Scott pioneered the viral hit, Stand up from the Shed, a weekly topical live streamed stand up show from his actual garden shed. The show achieved national coverage in the press, Sky News, BBC News and Five Live.
At the end of 2020, in the Comics Comic awards Scott was voted “Best Act” a prestigious award decided by comedians and promoters in the industry. Previous winners include, Mick Ferry, Zoe Lyons and Ian Stone.
In 2022 he was nominated as Best Club Comedian in the Chortle awards.
In 2017 and 18 Scott supported his comedy hero, Rob Brydon on his National UK tour dates for his latest show I am Standing Up and was selected to do a support slots for Jason Manford and John Bishop. He also worked alongside Michael McIntyre as part of his work in progress shows at the Duchess Theatre in London with Keri Godliman, Russell Kane and Ed Gamble.
In addition to his stand up work Scott is also a talented writer. He was a programme associate on First and Last with Jason Manford for BBC One, a writer for The Chris Ramsey Show on Comedy Central. He’s written stand up for big touring acts including Jason Manford and Rob Brydon and has worked extensively for BBC Radio 4, with writing credits including The News Quiz, and Citizen of Nowhere with Daliso Chaponda. He was also one of the main writers on the prime time BBC One Show, Little Mix – The Search hosted by Chris Ramsey.
As a filmmaker and writer of comedy shorts Scott has had his work officially selected for The Beeston Film Festival 2019 and the New York City Comedy Shorts Festival 2020.
SUPERfreak are the funkiest live wedding band and function band in the North of England and have spent the last 14 years playing weddings, parties and corporate events across the whole of the UK. Often described as a good-times party band this group of professional musicians is led by a charismatic and highly energetic frontman who is always fun and always looking to get the crowd involved.
