This talk will cover the current issues in obtaining PI cover in the construction market and the changing terms of PI i.e. going from Any one claim to In the Aggregate, Round the Clock cover etc. and how this is affecting the industry.
Our talk will provide an overview of the issues arising out of the Grenfell inquiry, including
(1) an explanation of the cause of the cladding issues and the Building Regulations relevant to this;
(2) how this does and can impact the different tiers of the construction industry (focussing on main contractors, subcontractors and consultants);
(3) an overview of the status of claims in the industry; and
(4) insurance policy issues arising out of the same, including how wordings have changed in response to the cladding and fire safety issues highlighted by the Grenfell tragedy.
