The session will also provide and update on fair value assessments to include what makes up brokers commissions and how to ensure broker costs are fully understood. We will also look at the new rules on multi-occupancy buildings insurances following intervention by the government – these impact over 5 million leaseholders who are defined as stakeholders and firms have to also act in their best interests. Insurers and brokers will also need to provide information about policies to leaseholders, including details of all remuneration and placement. We will also cover requirements imposed by the new Leasehold and Freehold Reform Act which bans commission sharing.

We are back in 2024! We are very pleased to announce that our 5 a side football tournament is back and will be held on Friday1st March 2024. Arrival is from 5pm, with play from 6pm to 9pm, with a drink afterwards in the bar plus a chance to network. Trophies will be presented to the Winners and Runners-Up and the winning team, who shall then retain the winners shield as current champions. The Tournament is being held at the Nottingham PowerLeague, Thane Road, Nottingham NG7 2TG.

The Nottingham Insurance Institute has joined forces with other Local Institutes of the CII to offer our members online examination training to gain your Cert CII qualification. If you are interested, you need to act quickly. The training starts on 8th January 2024. The Certificate in Insurance is a core qualification for insurance staff working across all sectors of the profession, developing core knowledge. You can choose between two courses. There is a course specifically for those working in insurance broking. For everyone else, your course deals with the fundamentals of underwriting and claims. There are nine half-days of training.
