Claims Club to Launch

Frank McGaffney, President of the Insurance Institute of Perth and Dundee is delighted to announce the launch of the P&D Claims Club.

Claims Club is an initiative to bring together the collective skills of insurance professionals involved in property and liability claims in the Perth and Dundee Insurance Institute catchment area, as well as further afield.

The intention is to share and increase technical knowledge as well as provide mentoring and networking opportunities.

Frank McGaffney comments; “As a Loss Adjuster, I am passionate about insurance claims. My aim is to bring together claims handlers from Brokers, Insurers and Loss Adjusters as well as any other insurance professional involved in the handling of property and liability insurance claims. The main aims are to discuss any new relevant legislation and provide an opportunity to discuss any complex or interesting ongoing claims, like a 'surgery' so to speak. I am also hoping that we can invite industry specialists to attend and make presentations on technical aspects. I hope we can assist anyone sitting a claims related exam. Ultimately, I hope that our Claims Club can engage with other institutes to share knowledge. I would appeal to fellow professionals involved in claims to contact me to get this initiative up and running”

If a training or technical aspect is identified we can feed this in to the CPD sub-committee to organise an appropriate speaker for one our lunchtime CPD Sessional Talks.

The initial format of Claims Club is to hold a meeting every two - three months depending on demand, for 1 hour. Meetings can be breakfast, lunchtime, or during the day, to suit attendees.
