Water Ingress & Flooding: Forensic Investigation & Prospects for Recovery

This presentation will give an overview of the causes of flooding and water ingress into buildings together with the prospects for recovery. Case studies will be used to discuss common considerations in forensic investigations relating to flooding from a range of sources, including rivers and sewer systems. Water ingress into buildings caused by failures in basement waterproofing, drainage systems and property flood resistance measures will also be covered.

At the end of the presentation, participants will have gained an insight into:

  • Considerations in a forensic investigation.
  • Typical causes of flooding.
  • The types of basement tanking systems and defects that can affect them.
  • The types of property flood resistance measures and defects that can affect them.
  • Recovery prospects arising from water ingress and flooding claims.

Please note that this event will be held in the Noel Cantwell Suite which is located in the South Stand of the Weston Homes Stadium. Due to limited parking near the South Stand entrance, we recommend that you park near the Main Reception and walk around the Stadium to access the venue.
