The presentation will be on the Senior Managers & Certification Regime (the SMCR) and will focus solely on how the new regime will apply to insurance brokers from 9 December 2019. Note that the SMCR applies in a different way to insurers, which will not be covered as part of the training session.

The new regime aims to improve individual accountability and awareness of conduct issues across FCA regulated firms. The presentation will focus on how the Core Regime under the SMCR will operate and will provide some practical advice on how firms should implement the SMCR into their organisations, the key issues likely to arise and how to deal with them.

Alan Hughes and Claire Holland will be presenting. Alan Hughes is a partner at Foot Anstey and heads up the firm's retail financial services team. Claire Holland is a Managing Associate in the firm's employment team and has a particular specialism in advising and assisting financial services firms with HR related issues.
