Are you enrolled onto an ACII unit but need some help with revision and study?

If you are enrolled or plan to enrol onto an ACII unit, please check this upcoming programme of study support as it might be just the help you need to achieve your Advanced Diploma.

Introduction

Your local institute are trialling the funding of a limited number of places on a Cert, Diploma and Advanced Diploma study programme with Intuition Training. This means it is free to you - on a first come, first served basis. Adrian Toomey, of Intuition Training, is providing a programme of tuition for 3 Advanced Diploma subjects: 820 Advanced Claims, 992 Risk Management, 960 Advanced Underwriting. All of the training will be online. Support is available on a unit-by-unit basis, meaning it is suitable for anyone looking to start, re-start or continue their CII studies.

Format of the training

Training consists of five 2-hour sessions every two weeks which will go through the detail of the study text, supported by end-of-chapter questions as well as revision sessions based on mock exams and revision quizzes.

Each session is recorded so learners can re-listen as part of their studies. Audio versions will also be available, so you can listen while driving or walking. In addition to the training time and the recorded sessions, all learners will be provided with a broad set of training and revision materials for each unit.

Groups are made up of individuals from local institutes all over the UK, but won’t be larger than 25 learners to enable interactive and engaging sessions.

Who is eligible to apply?

Research has told us that employers tend to pay for enrolment onto Advanced Diploma Units/exams etc but do not usually pay for revision help or ACII unit training beyond the CII material. This training programme has therefore been set up to fill this gap, and is designed for those employees who do not already have revision or ACII training delivered online or face to face via their employers.

Please note that The Insurance Institute of Plymouth & Cornwall is funding tuition ONLY for those members of this local institute - also residing/working in this geographical area. If you are not a member of Plymouth & Cornwall Institute, why not check with your Local Institute if they are also participating in this scheme?

Due to the size of the Institute and therefore amount of funds from CII, funding is limited each year and is only available on a first come, first served basis.

What do you need to do next?

1) Check that you are enrolled onto your Advanced Diploma unit. There is no funding from the local institute available for unit enrolment (only the subsidy that is available for paying for exam resits).

2) Check with your employer that you can be released on the dates and times for your unit.

3) Contact Adrian Toomey adrian.toomey@intuitiontraining.co.uk to apply for a place on the sessions, confirming:

- your name

- the unit you wish to take

- that you are a member of Plymouth & Cornwall CII and that your workplace doesn't already have a revision/training programme in place

Cert and Dip training sessions are also available.

Intuition Training. Your trainer will be Adrian Toomey. He has experience coaching on many different CII units at Advanced Diploma (ACII), Diploma and Certificate level. He runs training programmes and revision sessions with insurers, brokers, claims specialists and MGAs, from single office firms through to global organisations, supporting hundreds of learners towards successful completion of their CII qualifications.
