The Insurance Institute of Preston and Blackpool are pleased to announce the next educational seminar of our syllabus - Drones.

Presented by Tom Chamberlain (Aerospace and General Aviation Underwriting Manager at Allianz) and Tony Avery (Senior Aviation Underwriter at Allianz)
This Seminar will discuss the impact Drones may have on the future of the Insurance Industry, the risks this new technology creates and the coverage available.
Learning Objectives
The Seminar will include the following Learning Objectives:
- Explain the terminology and technology of UAVs/Drones and how they are being used in today’s industry
- Describe the regulation which applies to drones and their pilots
- Explain and understand the risks and perils that this new technology created
- Describe the insurance coverage available and how this is rated by insurance companies
- Understand the potential claims which could happen within this sector
Speaker Bio's
Tom Chamberlain has over 17 years’ experience in the industry, working in various positions across large, global insurance companies. Tom started his insurance career in Actuarial and has since held a number of strategic roles across the business and is currently the Head of General Aviation and Aerospace for Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty for the London Region. Tom has had a fascination with Aviation for as long as he can remember and holds a Private Pilots Licence, flying out of Fairoaks Aerodrome, and has recently also started flying FPV drones.
Tony Avery has over 13 years’ experience in the Aviation industry, working his way up from an operational role to his current position as Aviation Underwriter. Tony has a detailed knowledge of the drone industry having designed the insurance offering underwritten by Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty in the UK and is the underwriting expert for the Region. Tony has a particular passion for General Aviation and also owns and operates a Phantom II drone.
