It is not uncommon for people to neglect their mental health, specifically when they are experiencing financial stress. This can lead to significant problems in the long term and even worsen the existing financial stress. In this session, we will explore the relationship between financial stress and health - and attendees will leave with practical tools to help them combat financial stress, and stay well.

Consumer Duty update + new rules on Multi-occupancy insurances May 2024

Soon we will have had Consumer Duty for a year and firms will be preparing for their first annual board reports. The session will also provide an update on fair value assessments to include what makes up brokers commissions and how to ensure broker costs are fully understood. We will also look at the new rules on multi-occupancy buildings insurances following intervention by the government We will also cover requirements imposed by the new Leasehold and Freehold Reform Act which bans commission sharing.

Talking is good for us. We all know that and yet some of us find it hard to talk about how we feel, especially when we aren’t feeling good. This session is aimed at men and those who would like to support the men in their lives. The aim of the session is to shine a light on why some men find it difficult to open up, to explore ways to support men when they are struggling and to share some alternative ways to process difficult stuff, for those who really don’t like talking. In this interactive session, attendees will develop an understanding of some of the challenges facing men today and will take away some helpful ways to support men (or themselves) through difficult times.

Consumer Duty update + new rules on Multi-occupancy insurances

We are now live with Consumer Duty the FCA has urged firms to get on with it! Sheldon Mills, Executive Director of Consumers and Competition, warned that firms who ignore it or who pose the most harm can expect swift action. The Duty will mean that consumers should receive communications they can understand, products and services that meet their needs/provide evidenced fair value, and they get the customer support they need, when they need it. Most importantly, we will also cover the new rules that will be effective from 1 January 2024 on multi-occupancy insurances following intervention by the government
