108th Annual Dinner
The Insurance Institute of Sheffield and our President, Paul Exton, are delighted to announce the date for our 108th Annual Dinner!
We can confirm this year's dinner will be held on 11th November 2021 and that we will return to the Royal Victoria Crowne Plaza in Sheffield
We'll be presenting this year’s Outstanding Contribution and Highest Performance in Exam Awards along with a selection of raffle prizes in order to raise funds for the British Legion.
The event is a traditional black-tie, formal attire event with a quality five course menu.
President's Message
Our President, Paul Exton notes “Your local team continues to impress me with efforts with the next annual dinner and many bookings have now been made. Over the last few days, I have joined Patrick in meetings with our speakers and I am pleased to confirm both will be fantastic - not to be missed! Whether you are booking as an individual or a company table of ten, new to the profession or a returning friend of the institute, you are all most welcome. We’re fully inclusive and hope you look to join us on this night of remembrance for what promises to be a fantastic evening.”
Speakers
We are excited to announce that our guest speaker this year is Jaco van Gass, a World Champion Para-Cyclist and a keen adventurer. Jaco has recently returned from a hugely successful Tokyo Paralympics, where he won two Gold medals, one Bronze medal and has three world record under his belt. He was previously a member of the British Armed Forces Parachute Regiment. It was during Jaco’s second tour of Afghanistan in 2009, he suffered life-changing injuries and his achievements since this date and his approach to these is awe-inspiring. A motivational speaker not to be missed!
Our representative from the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) this year is Sian Fisher, Chief Executive and a Board Member of the CII. Sian has led the organisation since early 2016 following a distinguished career, which has included senior roles at a Lloyd’s Syndicate, a UK and European insurance company, a market leading MGA, a major international broker and US corporate. Sian is a graduate of the University of Oxford with an Executive MBA from Harvard Business School. As a founding member of the Insuring Women’s Futures initiative and a Committee Member of the Insurance Supper Club, Sian is a strong advocate for equality.
Charity
You probably have already noticed that this year, our dinner date coincides with the Remembrance Day. As such, we will be supporting The British Legion as our chosen charity at the dinner.
Tickets / Accommodation
Ticket Price: £49 pp, held at previous years’ price.
Corporate and individual bookings for the Dinner are welcome. Alternative dietary requirements will be catered for on request.
Accommodation is available at the venue with preferential rates. If accommodation and/or the drinks packages are required please telephone 0114 2526511 and advise this is for the Dinner of the Insurance Institute of Sheffield on 11th November 2021.

Booking / Cancellation
Our cancellation policy remains the same as previous years. Cancellations will be accepted and any payments refunded if we are provided with notification prior to the 11th October 2021. Cancellations after this date will incur a charge of 50% of your total booking cost.
In the event that we need to cancel this event due to changes over the Covid guidelines, we will notify you and issue a full refund of your booking fee.
