Are you ready for Insurance Charities Awareness Week? This year’s awareness week will take place between 22–26 June, and we hope our supporters throughout the British Isles will get involved. The aim of Awareness Week is to let as many insurance employees as possible know about their industry charity, and that we're here to provide help and support to those in the sector in times of need. People are often surprised that we don’t just help those in insurance, but also dependent relatives. We know that when misfortune strikes, whatever it is, it can affect the whole family. Please follow us on Twitter and LinkedIn and don’t forget to use the hashtag #ICAW in the run-up and during the week. If you're organising any activity, do let us know and we’d be pleased to support your efforts on social media! Finally, do look out for our awareness boxes during the week. If you'd like to order yours please email us today. We'll need: - company name - a contact name - a contact email address - a contact telephone number - full postal address for delivery - the number of staff at your office | | Breakfast with The Insurance Charities - Calling all senior HR professionals During Awareness Week we’ll be delivering two breakfast briefings for HR professionals working in the insurance sector. We want to tell them more about what we do, and the support we can offer them and their colleagues. The first session will take place in Birmingham, on Tuesday 23 June, and the second in the heart of the City of London, on Thursday 25 June. Both sessions are free to attend and will run from 8.30 am-10.30 am. Places are limited, so if you're working in HR and would like to join us please RSVP by Friday 29 May stating which briefing you’d like to attend. | | Please forward these event details to your senior HR representative, as we'd love them to join us. | | | Dementia support – announcing volunteering opportunities in four new locations! Last year we launched an exciting partnership with the Alzheimer’s Society who campaigns for change, funds research to find a cure and supports people living with dementia. This partnership offers a fast track support opportunity to all insurance people who have either been diagnosed with dementia or have someone close to them who has. We can now refer you to a specialist dementia adviser for information and support. In addition, there are also volunteering opportunities available if you’d like to help support those living with dementia. This could be via the phone, by offering a friendly ear, or in person by accompanying someone to the shops or the library for example. Initially piloted in the Midlands we are now excited to offer further volunteering opportunities in the following areas: - Cardiff/South Wales
- Manchester
- Norfolk and Suffolk
- Hampshire
We would encourage you to get in touch today to find out more about these fantastic opportunities and also share with any colleagues or contacts based in these areas. | | Are you looking to share your skills and knowledge to benefit others?
