Advanced Fraudulent Claims
Learning Objective Focus on the fraudulent insurance claims and the change in the law brought about by the Supreme Court's judgment in Versloot Dredging and the Insurance Act 2015.
In Versloot Dredging v Gerling (The Merwestone) the Supreme Court held that the use of 'collateral lies' does not lead to forfeiture of insurance claims.
Michael will discuss the implications of the judgment and the changes introduced by the Act 2015.

The Southampton Insurance Institute welcomes Michael Howard. Michael is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and qualified as a solicitor in 2002 having worked for various insurance brokers in London and Hong Kong. He is a partner of Browne Jacobson LLP and specialises in insurance coverage disputes, policy wording drafting and defending professionals.
