RO1 (Financial services, regulation and ethics) Pre Exam Training, Thursday 24th October 2019, Bournemouth
The Hants and Dorset PFS Regional Committee in association with the Insurance Institutes of Bournemouth and Southampton have organised a training day for those members who are studying for and taking the RO1 examination. Priority will be given to Dorset based members of the PFS Hants and Dorset Region.
The cost of the day’s training will be £76.27 for PFS members and £86.41 for non-PFS members. Your attendance will be confirmed once the member has paid the fee invoice. There is a maximum of 12 attendees. If we are oversubscribed, you will be placed on a waiting list.
The day will commence at 0930 sharp (please arrive at 0900) and finish by 1630.
The venue is the MacAllister Suite, the Vitality Stadium, AFC Bournemouth, Dean Court, Bournemouth, Dorset, BH7 7AF. There is NCB parking by the stadium.
For refreshments there will be tea/coffee and water available. A finger buffet lunch will be provided. The Vitality Stadium does not permit delegates to provide their own lunch.
The RO1 preparation day aims to increase your chances of passing the exam.
The day’s course will cover the following areas:
- Main areas of financial advice
- Relevant legal concepts
- Regulation of financial services
- FCA Handbook
- Advice framework
- Principles and Ethics
- Exam technique
By the end of the course, delegates will have covered the key elements of the RO1 syllabus with the emphasis on the CII Learning Outcomes, will have been introduced to the exam format and adopting a suitable exam technique.
The course will be led by Jane Alford. Jane has worked in the financial services industry for over 30 years. She has a degree in banking, insurance and risk management, is a Chartered Insurer, a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society and also holds associate membership of the CII. She has worked for major life companies as a regional and national trainer and as a technical consultant delivering technical subjects and exam workshops to IFAs as well as to support staff and internal staff. As well as designing and delivering face-to-face training she has developed online training packages for a number of technical subjects.
