Covid-19 ‘Return to Work’ – Health & Safety Webinar

Webinar
Thursday, 16 July 2020
1:00 pm – 2:00 pm (UK time)

We welcome all members & guests to attend a lunch time webinar, via Zoom, which will be presented by Alan Davies, a Partner in the Insurance Team at BDB Pitmans LLP.

Overview

As employers consider a ‘Return to Work’ they must remember they have statutory duties to provide a safe place of work and also general legal duties of care towards anyone who may be accessing or using their place of business. They need to review and adapt their work practices and procedures in light of Government Guidelines and advice issued by the Health & Safety Executive including undertaking a Covid-19 risk assessment as soon as possible. All employers should consider publishing their risk assessment on their website and the government expects all employers with over 50 employees to do so.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the session, participants will:

  • Understand employers’ statutory duties to provide a safe place of work;
  • Be aware of the essentials to be covered in a Covid-19 risk assessment of the workplace;
  • Understand the government’s expectations of employers;
  • Know what employees can expect of their employers;
  • Understand potential consequences for breaches of health and safety obligations in the workplace.
