RO4 (Pensions and Retirement Planning) Pre Exam Training, Tuesday 17th November 2020

The Personal Finance Society Hants and Dorset Regional Committee in association with the Insurance Institutes of Bournemouth and Southampton have organised a training day for those members who are studying for and taking the RO4 examination.

Due to COVID-19 the Regional Committee have suspended all Face to Face events for 2020 and this event will be run as an Online Distance Learning event.

The cost of the day’s training will be £41 for PFS members and £51 for non-PFS members. Your attendance will be confirmed once you have booked online. There is a maximum of 12 attendees. If we are oversubscribed, you will be placed on a waiting list.

The day will commence at 0930 sharp and finish by 1630, with breaks timetabled for lunch etc throughout the day.

The RO4 preparation day aims to increase your chances of passing the exam.

The day’s course will cover the following areas:

  • The main tax and legal frameworks that govern retirement benefits under registered pension schemes;

  • The features of defined contribution and defined benefit pensions;

  • State retirement benefits available, including the risks and suitability of contracting out of the State Second Pension;

By the end of the course, delegates will have covered the key elements of the RO4 syllabus with the emphasis on the CII Learning Outcomes, will have been introduced to the exam format and adopting a suitable exam technique.

The course trainer is Dean Scott, who via his firm L&D Digital provide comprehensive financial services training support to the CII and some major financial institutions.
