STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) Financial Services Certificate Course Day 7 & Day 8, Tuesday 21st October and Wednesday 22nd October 2025

STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) Financial Services Certificate Course, June 2025 to October 2025.

The Personal Finance Society Hants & Dorset, Surrey, Sussex and Thames Valley Regional Committees in association with the Insurance Institutes of Bournemouth, Guildford, Sussex and Southampton are proposing a FACE to FACE / Hybrid Zoom 8 day course over 5 months who are studying for and taking the STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) Financial Services Certificate Exam in October 2025.

This will be primarily a FACE to FACE event with an online video dial in option for those who are unable to attend in person. All sessions are recorded and sent to the delegates.

This exam sits outside of the CII exam qualification framework. It is the practical application of trust and taxation knowledge you will gain from the course study. The tutor Dean Scott took the exam in November 2023, as well as hosting two cohorts first STEP FS Certificate training course, he passed with a distinction. Of the 9 delegates from the first cohort who took the exam after enrolling on our course, 8 passed (many with distinction or merit) and one narrow fail. The pass mark is 50%.

Each day will commence at 10.00 am and finish between 3pm and 4pm, with breaks timetabled for lunch etc throughout the day. Lunch and refreshments will be provided throughout the day.

This intensive workshop will work through the 14 modules which vary in size and complexity.

The syllabus will be worked through during the first 6 session days, with revision and exam practice for the final two sessions.

In addition to the cost of this course, you will need to register for the exam directly with STEP, the cost of which is currently £650.

Our 2025 online revision programme is being co-ordinated by Dean Scott and L&D Digital Solutions. The course trainer is Dean Scott FPFS, a CII approved trainer, who has supported the Personal Finance Society Hants and Dorset, Thames Valley and Surrey Regions' exam revision programme since 2020.
