The FCA Are Coming!

Our first webinar of 2022 is the FCA are Coming! at 1pm on Wednesday 2nd February 2022 our Guest Speaker is Mamunal Wahid of Clarke Wilmott Solicitors This seminar will focus on the supervision process including how the FCA supervises its firms and what happens should a firm or individual be referred to the Enforcement Division. Learning Objectives By attending this event, delegates will be able to describe: How the FCA supervises its firms. The supervision process and the FCA’s powers. What happens in the Enforcement Division and what powers does the FCA have? Liaising with the FCA’s Enforcement Division pre and post investigation.” Mamunul is an Associate in the Financial Services Litigation Team based in the Bristol office. He is instructed by financial advisers and private clients, as both claimant and defendant, on a range of complex disputes. He has first-hand knowledge of the inner workings of financial institutions having spent nine months at a leading wealth management practice as part of his training. He now uses this experience to deliver practical and commercial solutions for his clients. and is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Insurers and the Personal Finance Society. He is also studying towards the CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning. Mamunul is advising financial services institution on the FCA's new rules on general insurance pricing practices Mamunul is part of the team currently acting for numerous individuals, including over 1000 steel workers, who were advised to transfer from final salary pensions into private arrangements. It is relevant to General Insurance Brokers/Intermediaries, Their Insurers,Financial Advisors and any other market participants. "FCA's NEW GI Pricing Practices, Product Governance and Product Value"

New rules came into force affecting Product Governance on 1 October 2021 and these rules apply to commercial and personal lines insurances. The rules are wide-ranging and also seek to address what has been described as the ‘loyalty penalty’ paid by existing general insurance product customers and aim to ensure that customers receive fair value in the insurance products they buy.

Also an insight as to why Cyber Essentials is a great way to become less vulnerable to an extensive, and growing, range of malicious attacks and thereby minimize loss (in every sense!).
