Croquet Evening
It's time to dust off your flat shoes and ready your mallets in preparation for our annual Croquet Tournament which will take place at, and is hosted by, the Sussex County Croquet Club (SCCC) on Tuesday 5 July 2016.
During a light-hearted evening of recreational croquet, pairs of players will challenge for the Centenary Trophy as they discover just how exacting this seemingly gentle sport can be!
Don't worry if you have never played before, no experience is necessary, as expert coaching will be provided by SCCC on the night.
The fun starts at 5.45 for 6.00pm and costs just £7.00 per person (non-refundable). This includes the now famous (amongst previous players) SCCC Ploughman's that will round the evening off rather nicely once it is too dark (or too cold) to keep playing.
Online Booking
This event is open to all members, who may each bring one guest. Don't worry if you want to come alone, we will find you a team-mate on the night!

To assist with catering, please make sure you book your place by Wednesday 29 June at the latest.
Please note: Your booking can only be confirmed once payment has been received. If you experience any difficulty in paying online, please email Susan Stamp at secretary@sussexcii.org.uk.
Other Information
Hot and cold drinks can be purchased from the bar throughout the evening, including a special cocktail (alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions are available), which is back by popular demand!
Please make sure you wear flat-soled shoes or trainers to avoid damaging the lawns. You are also advised to bring a jumper or similar as it can turn quite cold once the sun has gone down!
Croquet is played in most weather conditions, so we would suggest bringing waterproofs if it looks like it may rain on the day!
Whilst open to all members, please note that due to steps leading into the building and between lawns, this event may not be suitable for the infirm or anyone in a wheel chair. Please contact us if you require further information about this.
Getting there
By car - there is ample free parking at the site. If following your Satnav, please do not use the Club's postcode as your destination as you will end up at the (locked) back door! Instead set the address as Kingston Lane or enter the postcode for Shoreham College - BN43 6YW (which is immediately opposite the Club) and ignore the final few directions onto the campus.
By train - the Club is about 15 minutes' walk from Southwick rail station.
By bus - Stagecoach route 700 (between Brighton and Worthing area) stops on the coast road near the bottom of Kingston Lane. This is about 5 minutes' walk from the Club.
