Brighton Dome Backstage Tour
Over its 200 year history, the grade 1 listed Brighton Dome has had many guises. It has been a stable block, a temporary hospital, a roller rink and is now the south coast's leading multi-arts venue.
If you would like to find out more about the fascinating history of this venue, join us as colleagues from the Brighton Dome lead members of the Insurance Institute of Sussex on a backstage tour of their fascinating venue.
Online Booking
Costing just £5 per person, members may each bring one guest on this one hour backstage tour. To book your place, please use our online system by clicking on the Book Now button below.
Those attending will need to gather at 6.15pm for a prompt 6.30pm start. Full joining instructions, together with details of where to assemble, etc will be sent to members who are joining us, ahead of the event.
Getting There
The Dome is approximately a 10 minute walk from Brighton Station and the city has a number of car parks near by, though these can be expensive. If driving, it is recommended that you allow plenty of time to make sure you are not late.
Additional Information
There is no age limit for those taking part, though it is recommended for adults and older children (typically over the age of 10). If bringing a child, you will need to make sure they are closely supervised at all times. This is for their own safety and the enjoyment of others.
Please note that the tour will involve a lot of standing and include two staircases of approximately 20 steps each. There will also be some changes of level during the remainder of the tour.
We have been advised that the tour is suitable for wheelchair users and for those who cannot use stairs (lifts are available), but due to the nature of the building, the Dome will need to arrange for additional staff to be on site during the tour. If assisted access is needed, please make sure you tell us at time of booking so that the Dome can make the necessary arrangements.
We have also been told that, as a working venue, it is possible that our tour may need to be rescheduled. In the unlikely event that this happens, we will be given at least one week's notice and will contact you as soon as possible to advise you of the new date or to offer a full refund.
