Plumbing Installations - the construction underwriter's worst nightmare?

The ABI website reports that its members pay out around £2.5m each day for 'escape of water' claims and anyone who has suffered a burst pipe or serious leak will know the damage that water can do to a property in a short space of time.

In fact, water damage has replaced fire as the most common cause of major material damage claims that emanate from the contraction industry. Many of these arise due to the failure of plumbing installations towards the end of a project when a building has been fitted out with all services, flooring and completed decorations.

Does this really mean that plumbing installations are the construction underwriter's worst nightmare? To find out, join us on Tuesday 26 September when Mike Skingsley from Cunningham Lindsey will explain the different plumbing systems used in commercial and residential developments and highlight the common factors that lead to plumbing failures.

Mike will also use his experience as a loss adjuster to discuss the considerations that apply regarding whether affected areas should be dried, repaired or replaced.
