The current law relating to fraudulent claims and the future
A paler shade of grey?
Get your CPD off to a flying start at our first seminar in 2017 when we will be welcoming Jeff Heasman back to present this interactive and thought-provoking seminar.
Taking place at Clair Hall on Thursday 19 January 2017, Jeff will be tracing the historical development of the fraudulent claims rule. He will then focus, in particular, on the provisions of the Insurance Act 2015 and the recent Court of Appeal decision in Versloot Dredging BV v HDI-Gerling Industrie Versicherung AG (The DC Merwestone) which related to fraudulent devices.
Jeff will also tackle the key question - Have the courts and recent legislation now appropriately addressed the grey areas that have existed in this aspect of insurance law?
