We are delighted to invite Members of the Insurance Institute of Sussex to join us for a one-hour visit to the internationally renowned Lloyd's building to provide an introduction to Lloyd's and how the Lloyd's market works.

The visit has been arranged for us by Lloyd's and will feature a tour of the building, led by one of their expert guides. Costing just £15 per person, it will include a talk on the history of Lloyd's, the Lloyd's market and its operation, the structure of the market, how business is placed, globalisation and distribution regulation and Lloyd's in the world insurance market.

Learning Objectives
By the end of the visit attendees will have an understanding of:

  • the history of Lloyd's

  • what Lloyd's is

  • what Lloyd's insures

  • how business is transacted within Lloyd's

  • the roles of brokers and underwriters at Lloyd's

  • Lloyd's role in the UK and global insurance market

Please note that places are strictly limited and will be offered on a first come, first served basis. Once a booking has been confirmed, we are unable to give any refunds or exchanges unless the visit is cancelled by Lloyd's.

Dress code: Business or smart casual (no trainers, jeans, or sportswear, including shorts or sweatshirts).

To take part in the visit, attendees must be aged at least 19 and will need to show original photo ID (either a driving licence or passport) and be issued with a visitor pass before the visit starts.

The building and its facilities are suitable for disabled guests and wheelchair users, but please let us know when booking if you have any mobility issues, or if you will need any support during the visit.
