Insurance Institute of Sussex Croquet Evening
Bookings now closed
Our annual Croquet Tournament takes place at the prestigious Sussex County Croquet Ground on Wednesday 3 July and will be hosted for us again by the Sussex County Croquet Club (SCCC). This is a great opportunity enjoy an evening of light-hearted croquet and network with other insurance professionals afterwards over a tasty supper.
To add a competitive edge to the evening, pairs of players will again be challenging for the honour of winning the Insurance Institute of Sussex Centenary Trophy.
Don't worry if you have never played before, as all equipment and full training are available from our hosts, the SCCC. The fun starts at 5.30 for 6.00 pm and costs just £15 per person (which is non-refundable unless the event is cancelled). This price includes a ploughman's lunch which will be served at the end of the evening. Hot and cold drinks will also be available to purchase throughout the event.
Booking is open to all members who may each bring one guest if they wish. Don't worry if you have an odd number of players, or you wish to come alone, we will find you a partner on the night.

Other Information
Hot and cold drinks can be purchased from the bar throughout the evening.
Please make sure you wear flat-soled shoes or trainers to avoid damaging the lawns. You are also advised to bring a jumper or similar as it can turn quite cold once the sun has gone down.
Croquet is played in most weather conditions, so we would suggest bringing waterproofs if it looks like it may rain on the day!
Whilst open to all members, please note that due to steps leading into the building and between lawns, this event may not be suitable for the infirm or anyone in a wheelchair. Please contact us if you require further information about this.
Getting there
By car - there is ample free parking at the site. If following your Satnav, please do not use the Club's postcode as your destination as you will end up at the (locked) back door! Instead set the address as Kingston Lane or enter the postcode for Shoreham College - BN43 6YW (which is immediately opposite the Club) and ignore the final few directions onto the campus.
By train - the Club is about 15 minutes' walk from Southwick rail station.
By bus - Stagecoach route 700 (between Brighton and Worthing area) stops on the coast road near the bottom of Kingston Lane. This is about 5 minutes' walk from the Club.
