We are very pleased to welcome Ian Derrick from The Bank of England Agency for Wales to provide an update to our members on the economic outlook.

The highly interesting and fascinating presentation will provide a summary of the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee's latest projection for growth and inflation in the UK. The information provided at this talk is strictly 'off the record'. To this end only attendees registered in advance will be allowed admission and the content is not for circulation after the event. This lecture is restricted to CII and PFS members only.

Learning objectives:
At the end of the session delegates will be able to:
• describe the role of the Bank of England;
• summarise the current and immediate future economic environment in the UK;
• understand the latest Monetary Policy Committee's projections for growth and inflation in the UK;
• understand the economic performance in the UK.
About the speaker
Ian Derrick joined the Bank of England Agency for Wales in 2000 as Deputy Agent. His role primarily involves assessing the economic conditions experienced by businesses in Wales and explaining the Bank's current forecast.

He is a Welsh speaker, born and schooled in Llanelli, and he graduated from Cardiff University in Economics in 1989. He worked for the Royal Bank of Scotland working in corporate banking and project finance roles in the City of London in the 1990's.
