Are you ready?

With the new GDPR coming into force on 25th May 2018, the focus until now has been for organisations to prepare themselves for the biggest shake up of data protection laws in over 20 years.

There has been a lot of talk around the implications of what will come after the update to the legislation, but mainly focusing on the 'fear, uncertainty and doubt' of the potential penalties that may be imposed.

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

We welcome all members & guests to attend a lunchtime seminar which will be presented by William Richmond-Coggan from Pitmans Law.

With the European General Data Protection Regulation coming in to force on 25th May 2018, the focus until now has been on the few months remaining for companies to prepare themselves for the biggest shake up of data protection laws in over 20 years. There has been a lot of talk around the implications of what will come after the update to the legislation, but mainly focusing on the ‘fear, uncertainty and doubt’ of the potential penalties that may be imposed.

The session will focus on what life under the new Regulation will be like for businesses, the longer term implications which the Regulation will bring in, and what challenges and opportunities are likely to be presented to organisations both within and outside of the insurance industry.

In terms of learning outcomes, delegates should be able to understand the main provisions of the GDPR, the impact GDPR is likely to have on businesses & understand how the insurance industry will have to adapt, and how the scope is broader than ‘just’ cyber cover.”

The meeting will be held at The Ageas Suite, The Ageas Bowl, West End, Southampton, SO30 3XH on 6th March 2018, 12.45pm – 1.45pm.

A free lunch will be provided, if it is not required or if you have any dietary requirements, please advise when booking so that we can accommodate your needs.

Please remember that all of our meetings are FREE and guests are welcome.
